A Culture of Innovation: Insider Accounts of Computing and Life at BBN edit / delete
Book about the history of BBN. But the really interesting thing here is the source code for the IMP -- the original ARPAnet router -- and details about recovering it and running it in emulation. Very neat!

I got here via the comprehensive section on American early broadcast radio (while looking to see which of the Mercury Theatre's radio productions survive -- turns out many of them do and they're pretty good). The maths stuff here is at least as interesting, though.
