Jane Austen Fiction Manuscripts: Home edit / delete
"The Jane Austen’s Fiction Manuscripts Digital Edition gathers together in the virtual space of the web some 1100 pages of fiction written in Jane Austen’s own hand." I'm not really very interested in Jane Austen's fiction itself, but the details of how the manuscripts were preserved and digitised are really interesting.

Set into Song - Peter Cox edit / delete
Scripts for the (first series of) Radio Ballads. Note that the more popular songs have evolved somewhat in the folk tradition, so the lyrics here for (e.g.) Shoals of Herring won't match what people actually sing these days.

The introductory material is very interesting.

90th IDPG Manuals edit / delete
A variety of US Army manuals. I came here via a link to the one on watch and clock repair -- but the manuals on how to run an army band (including instructions for violin repair and the instruction to avoid "violent, enervating jazz" when planning hospital concerts) are also fascinating.

IBM 51xx PC Family Computers edit / delete
Manuals and repair information for IBM 51xx machines. I ought to get my AT up and running again at some point, now I've found all the bits of it. (One of the classiccmp posters has one that's been upgraded enough to run Linux, which is kind of neat...) -- As of 2015 I've now done this, and this site was very helpful!
