Inside Spacewar! — A Software Archeological Approach edit / delete
Extremely comprehensive study of the Spacewar code. I might describe this as a software graphological analysis rather than an archeological one, since one of the most interesting parts is the examination of different programmers' styles...

Building a minimal -- and I really mean minimal here -- breadboarded PDP-11 system around a J-11 chip. The built-in monitor is pretty cool. I imagine J-11s are even harder to find than HD-6120s, though (although I've wondered for several years about building an SBC around the Russian PDP-11 CPUs...)

"This page contains various information about the computer language Pascal as stated by the ISO 7185, the original Pascal language designed by Niklaus Wirth at ETH in Zurich, and any implementations of that language." There's lots of description of Delphi and other derivations elsewhere, but this is very comprehensive on ISO PASCAL, including the history of its compilers.

A critical comparison of Go and... Algol 68. I would also observe that Go failed to learn even from occam, another Algol-derived language that it's much more closely related to. But I wasn't previously aware of some of the cool features that Algol 68 had; this is a good read.

Excellent description of the language from a former user. (There is at least one reasonably-modern implementation, AWE.)

"For a very long time, the smallest Unix system for the PDP-11 compatible machines - LSX, adapted from Unix V6 by Dr. Heinz Lycklama - was feared lost because it was never officially released outside of Bell Labs and nobody bothered to keep it for posterity." Now they have.
