I was looking for a tool to adjust gain in my lecture recordings for appropriate modal apparent loudness -- this has libraries implementing the standard algorithms for the latter, although it's a bit Windows-ish...
Various neat (and mostly short) bits of code from one of the Plan 9 contributors. antiquicksort -- which automatically derives worst-case input for Quicksort implementations -- is pretty neat.
