A "better Tcl" language (i.e. something that sits in roughly the shell space, but is actually a real programming language with exceptions, etc.) The simplicity is interesting.

ripgrep is faster than {grep, ag, git grep, ucg, pt, sift} - Andrew Gallant's Blog edit / delete

Accidentally Quadratic edit / delete
"I started this blog because over my career so far as a software engineer, I’ve kept personally running into software that was slow, and wondering why. And when I had time to point a profiler at them and debug the slowness, I would very often discover quadratic behavior, which could usually be drastically improved to linear, with just a little work."

Sinclair Radionics - an inside view edit / delete
"I worked for Sinclair Radionics for the above period, being the second engineer employed by Clive. The first was Jim Westood. These are some recollections, both technical and anecdotal, and data from that period." i.e. this is Sinclair in their pre-digital period -- hifi amplifiers and the like.
